GLAUCHAU solar power plant portfolio 2.4 MWp
In December 2009, the solar power plant portfolio, consisting of three individual plants, with a total output of 2.4 MWp in Glauchau (Saxony/Germany) has been connected to the grid. Lessor of the roof areas is the Saxon ‘BMG Baugruppen- und Modulfertigung GmbH Glauchau’.
In a module inclination angle of 10 degrees, about 33,400 First Solar thin film modules were installed on six warehouse and assembly shop rooftops of BMG. The roof area in total amounts approx. 24,000 sqm. COLEXON designed in cooperation with SC SolarCraft a light weight substructure, that avoids penetrating the PVC film roofs. Since shading effects are minimized due to the optimized inclination angle, more modules could be placed on the roof. The solar power plants generate approx. 2,486,745 kilowatt hours in total per year. With that, more than 2,487 tons of harmful CO2 emissions may be saved annually.
