Solar power industry presents its financial results - a comparison

COLEXON presented its figures for the financial year 2009 on March 26. The industry comparison shows that COLEXON, with an EBIT of 18.5 million euros and a turnover of 188.1 million euros (pro-forma results), has developed extremely well and was able to distance itself clearly from its peer group.

The COLEXON results are particularly pleasing if one considers the industry situation in 2009 as a whole: the solar power companies were confronted with a difficult situation for a variety of reasons:
  • The deterioration of the overall economic conditions is becoming increasingly noticeable in the solar power industry. This is particularly true of the strained situation in the financial sector. Limited liquidity assets for project financing represented a significant obstacle to growth in the industry.
  • Furthermore, German solar power companies suffered from a long winter in the first half of the year and from the difficult weather conditions that it brought.
This led to falling profit margins, rising pressure of competition and increasing market consolidation. Analysts assume that, after a temporary dip in growth in 2009, the solar power industry will recover again and continue its successful development. With its stable financial base and market-oriented, flexible business model, the COLEXON Group will participate in this growth and continue its steady growth once again in 2010.
