Publication of the business report for 2009 - COLEXON continues its expansion
On March 26, COLEXON presented its business report for 2009. The project developer in the photovoltaic sector was even able to exceed its own forecast and achieved a turnover of 188.1 million euros and an EBIT of 18.5 million euros (pro-forma results). The company therefore continued its expansion and defied the industry trend.
As already mentioned in the Industry View it was clear: 2009 was not an easy year for the solar power industry. Alongside the causes already identified, such as the basic conditions in society as a whole, it was the manufacturing side above all that had to fight with enormous price pressure. The above-average balance sheet of COLEXON testifies to the flexible positioning of the Hamburg company. COLEXON was able to exceed the forecast turnover of 160 to 180 million euros and an EBIT of 16 to 18 million euros clearly and finished the 2009 financial year with significant increases in turnover and EBIT in comparison to the previous year.
To be precise, COLEXON was able to increase turnover in comparison with its results of the previous year by 32 percent to 188.1 million euros (pro-forma results). The growth in the results before interest and taxes (EBIT) was even clearer. With 18.5 million euros (pro-forma results), COLEXON was able to achieve an increase in EBIT of 52 percent in comparison to the previous year's figures. The largest contribution to turnover was provided by the wholesale segment with 127.8 million euros (pro-forma results). COLEXON was also given room for maneuver by taking over the newly acquired business sector of solar power station operation, with a turnover of 17.8 million euros.
"The key to our success is our business model, which we have further strengthened by our takeover of Renewagy", explains Thorsten Preugschas, CEO and chairman of the board of COLEXON. "With our three main pillars we have the prerequisites at our disposal to continue our expansion consistently", Preugschas continues.
