COLEXON sells 1 MWp to the investment fund company tnp

Hamburg, February 10, 2010. Again, the international focus of the COLEXON Energy AG leads to a successful conclusion of a deal: Yesterday, one of the leading project developer in the photovoltaics sector sold the PV power plant Sainte-Maxime in France. The solar power plant has been designed and realized by COLEXON engineers. The purchaser, tnp Mitteldeutsche Verwaltung & Treuhand GmbH, had previously signed a framework agreement with COLEXON on purchasing PV power plants with a capacity of up to 15 MWp until mid of 2011.

Already in 2009, the Hamburg COLEXON Energy AG strengthened its international focus with the establishment of promising partnerships.  In the beginning of last year COLEXON signed a contract with tnp Mitteldeutsche Verwaltung & Treunhand GmbH that provides a strong basis for the international expansion of the company’s project business in 2010/2011. In line with this mutual agreement tnp purchased the plant Sainte-Maxime near to the Côte from COLEXON.

Efficient selection of modules
The free field area in southern France amounts to 1.8 hectare. The engineers used 5,600 crystalline modules from Moser Baer that suit very well to the regional conditions – such as the intensity of the regional irradiation – and therefore provide optimal yields. The power output is expected to amount to approximately 1.4 million kWh per year. This corresponds to annual CO2 savings of approximately 1,261 tons compared to a coal fired power plant. With this reference, the COLEXON engineers underlined their special expertise in the adaption of the project to the local conditions in order to achieve an optimal energy yield.

Flexible business model
The realization of the plant in Sainte-Maxime emphasizes the forward-looking alignment of COLEXON. Instead of exclusively relying on the German market with the still effective subsidies of the EEG, COLEXON is intensifying the International commitment, for instance in France, Czech Republic, and Italy. With this scheme, the company directs its strategic growth proactively to the expected change in the German photovoltaic market. With the International diversification of its project portfolio COLEXON aims to become less depended on regional changes of the economic-, legal-, and political framework.
