Our objective
COLEXON is one of the leading developers of major PV systems and an established wholesaler for solar modules in the international market. As part of its long-term, forward-looking corporate development, COLEXON is also seeking to establish itself as an independent provider of solar power. The company's paramount goal is to offer solar power at competitive prices. We pursue goal-oriented and risk-optimized growth in these and related areas where we can generate added value. COLEXON concentrates on thin film technology in all of these value-added areas.
Project business
COLEXON specializes in project development related to major
photovoltaics plants. Project development as we see it means more than
just constructing a functional system. We are responsible for all
aspects of project implementation – from plant design to the selection
of the best technology all the way to the transfer of the turnkey
installation to the customer.
We also act as a wholesaler of modules and components for PV systems as well as complete customized solutions in the international market, providing yet another base for the company's business. Customers are given detailed advice when purchasing these PV components as well as professional help with their individual questions.
Besides engaging in project implementation and wholesale, COLEXON plans to operate its own solar power plants in the future. In our view, this expansion of the value chain is an important step in the company's evolution toward an independent energy supplier for solar power.

Customers are given detailed advice when purchasing these PV components as well as professional help with their individual questions.

Plant operation
COLEXON established an important additional base in the third quarter by taking over Renewagy, the Danish company that invests in solar installations. COLEXON believes that the vertical expansion of its value chain constitutes an important step in the Company’s development because it made a decisive contribution to both its profitability and its opportunities for growth. The Plant Operation segment essentially comprises the following competence clusters:
- Financing of solar farms through long-term loan agreements;
- Execution of legal, technical and economic due diligence tests; and
- Legally effective transfer of the projects.
After the acquisition of Renewagy, COLEXON operates nine solar power plants with an aggregate output of about 44 MWp in Germany. Under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), the electricity generated is paid for by the respective network operator. Twenty years of predictable and constant cash flows generated through the feed-in compensation strengthen COLEXON’s liquidity and open up new opportunities for growth.
Service and operation
In addition, COLEXON also provides maintenance and repair work in this division. The Company operated solar parks having a total output of about 40 MWp as of the end of 2009. Additional solar power plants for which service and operation are provided are currently in negotiation. Most of these solar power plants stem from COLEXON’s own portfolio. Plans for the medium term include a continued increase of the share of external solar farms.
Wholesale
The wholesale business is yet another key element of the Company’s activities. COLEXON offers modules and components for photovoltaics systems as well as complete customized solutions on the international market. COLEXON gives its customers detailed advice when purchasing these PV components as well as professional help with their individual questions. This division improves COLEXON’s planning reliability by equalizing revenue fluctuations in the major project business and enables the Group to respond more flexibly to changes in the market. COLEXON also uses wholesale as a tool for developing new markets.
